Miles of smiles and belly pics!

Daddy and Miles wanted to take me mini-golfing for Mother's Day, and since it was cold that day I took a rain check and cashed it in this week. We had a lot of fun, though Miles was more into rolling/throwing the ball into the hole than hitting it with his putter. Daddy did a good job trying to teach him how to golf, but ultimately, we ended up just doing a lot of goofing off which was ok too!
Because SO many of you have been asking, I made sure to keep Jeff armed with the camera while we were enjoying some family time this past week so that I could post some 'belly pics'. I really enjoy going back now and looking at how big I was with Miles, so I am glad we have these for Mayse too. P.S. I was about twice as big (and much more... um... meaty?) with Miles at this point. Perhaps we are going to have a petite little girl to follow our brute like boy.
We went out to dinner for Mother's Day, it was so much fun. Look how handsome my little man looks, picked his outfit out just for me. Jeff did too- and I must say I was with the two best looking, most wonderful males in all of Chicago!
And my birthday falls pretty close to Mother's Day every year too (turned 29- for the first time). Not only did Daddy and Miles make me 'birthday brownies' while I got to relax, but then I got a treat so rare I thought Jeff must have been been trying for brownie points (no pun intended)- he had Miles bring me the bowl to lick. Of course I shared with Miles, like he would have let me get away with anything else! The next weekend, I really got to celebrate with more birthday love (and brownies from Jeffs mom too) when some of our family came down to help with the attic renovation. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

This was a picture from Easter weekend, that was just sent to us. This in Andrew Pfaller, one of Jeff's cousins, taking Miles on a 4-wheeler ride. Miles LOVED it, though in most of the pictures he looks scared to death. Thanks Andrew!

Mayse Jane Pfaller

And it's a girl! We're having a girl! Probably the most important picture we got from the ultrasound, after reassurance that all the other images showed a perfectly healthy baby, is the one below. The tech didn't even have to tell us, as soon as I saw this one I screamed- "A GIRL!!!"
She just smiled and nodded! Jeff looked a little rueful, but only because he had bet me that we were having a boy. Heeeheheheheheheee...

Visions of shopping for pink and frilly things fill my head, and I shockingly realize that I am no longer the same person who swore up and down that my little girl would NOT be frilly. I think it's because I had a boy- who gangs up on me with his daddy- first and got to watch all my friends dress up their doll like daughters...

Miles, just like Daddy, was SURE the baby was going to be a boy. So when we found out she was a she, we were afraid Miles might be reluctant or upset. Pretty much he's been indifferent now that he knows, but still keeps telling everyone at school that his sister will be named Munroe, the name we had picked out for a boy. He did his first act as an official brother by picking out an adorable pink sun bonnet to give his sister on her birthday. We can't wait!

Again, the 3D images amaze me but also creep me out. Because the baby doesn't have any fat under her skin yet, she appears all lumpy. But wow... and she has MY nose! I predict that she will look just like Jeff, except for the nose. What a pair we will have!

Spring is here...

FUN FUN FUN!!!
Miles and Mom took a trip to Michigan this past weekend and left Dad alone at to work/play at the house. We had a lot of fun meeting Cindy and the girls for dress fittings for the wedding, and then at lunch. Miles, of course, kept us all very entertained. Later on Saturday, Miles, Mom, and Grandma Janell went over to visit Great Grandma Spicer where Miles really liked helping clean up the yard and meeting the neighbor boy. We played with Auntie Manda Sat night. Then on Sunday, we played at the mall play area all morning and went to Lowell to meet Grandma and Grandpa Pfaller for dinner at Balls- and got to see both of their new cars! Miles, Mommy and Grandma had their first Balls of the year! It was a great weekend, so glad we got to see everyone!

Miles and Mom looking down from the top of the boat house.

Grandma and Miles enjoying the sunshine on top of the boat house after working hard on the yard!

Cookie making is definitely one of Miles favorite things to do. Mine too, now that I think about it.

A picture of our semi completed, semi destroyed attic that will become our Master Suite over the next few months. We have spent weeks now scraping the wonderful popcorn finish off of all of the ceilings AND walls- and next weekend we shall start framing out the new walls and installing the electrical!

Here is that lovely popcorn finish that has given us so many hours to bond with our new room.

Miles looking sweet. Note the grass stained shorts and scuffed up knees?

Yeah, she was loving her some Miles after driving a ridiculously long period of time in comparison the the ridiculously short amout of time Auntie Manda got to spend with us. That's why we love her.

Great Grandma Spicer got the luxury of having three helpers on Saturday. This is one of the ONLY pictures I have of them together. She and Miles cleaned up pine cones and pine needles down by the water while Mom and Grandma Janell were busy with other yard work.

Miles and Ben, the 5-yr-old neighbor boy, spent a good hour or so chasing each other around the yard and trying to play soccer. Daddy has done an amazing job of teaching Miles to tackle and 'protect' the ball, because none of us could keep the kid from diving on top of it every time he got near. I don't think Ben was impressed- though Daddy would have been proud.
